Introduction:

West Cork Hideaway is an extremely unique residence which has been lovingly and painstakingly restored over the past 10 years. It has been transformed from a 250 year old Irish stone ruin into a spectacularly built home whilst masterfully maintaining the original character and charm. It also features in our Exclusive Ireland section, for the discerning holiday maker, looking for something a little more unique.

It has set a new standard in holiday living throughout the South Western Counties of Ireland.

The home boasts all the amenities and more expected of comfortable modern day living, whilst at the same time, maintaining the style, warmth and charm which makes the Irish home and its character so unique and internationally recognized.

The entrance into the house off the huge stone courtyard opens into the living area

with the timber ceiling towering 23ft overhead. A large wood and turf, stone fireplace occupies all of one of the walls and is the central feature of the room. A staircase winds around the opposite end of the room leading onto an indoor walkway overlooking the entire room which connects either end of the house and the upstairs bedrooms in a truly unique fashion.

Leading off the Living area is the kitchen which is large, modern and provides the

intrepid cook with everything they need.

Further into the house, off the Living room is a Dining area with a large table and

chairs, ideally suited for those who enjoy formal dining experiences.

Leading off the Dining area through double doors is the bar, an especially cosy room, large enough to cater for a small crowd with lounge chairs, a bar, bar chairs and a stereo. Looking through the large windows around the bar, the sweepingviews out onto the rolling hills, green pastures and rugged mountains are truly something that must be seen to be appreciated. This is an ideal room to pass the long summer evenings or the winter afternoons with a drink and some music in the warmth amongst friends and family.

Leading from the bar is a doorway which opens onto a large wing of the residence. This houses a 10 metre indoor, heated swimming pool and a state of the art sauna. Outside is a sundeck which can be enjoyed during the warmer months to bask in the sunshine after a swim, overlooking the tranquil countryside.

This indoor pool sets the home apart from anything else in the region. A truly unique addition to the residence which can be utilised in the warmth of summer or enjoyed in total comfort during the colder winter months.

Of the bedrooms, two are downstairs and three are upstairs. The design of the home is such that two individual familes could comfortably reside at the same time as two bedrooms are up one end of the home, whilst three are on the opposite side.

The bedrooms are comfortable, bright and roomy. Flooring is carpet in some and pine floorboards in others and all are tastefully decorated in a homely fashion with

colours that compliment the style and elegance of the residence. Skylights in some and large windows in others create bedrooms with an airy and roomy feel to them.

Three of the rooms feature ensuites with high pressure showers and a fourth bathroom common to the house features a bathtub and all the usual amenities.
