The property was originally built as a Hunting Lodge for “The Countess Mataxa” of Connemara
The large entrance hall decorated with Hunting Memorabilia leads into a spacious living room that vibrates charm. Wood floors fine furniture, paintings and big deep comfortable sofa’s and chairs await you and the bliss of an open Turf Fire. The kitchen is painted in a duck egg blue and floors are finished in cool marble. This bright Vibrant Kitchen contains everything one needs.
There are three double bedrooms overlooking the magnificent gardens. The rooms are understated and stylish with crisp fine white linens.
Stroll down the avenue to the wonderful Lough Corrib. Take a boat on the lake for a days fishing or simply explore the wonderful islands, (there are 365 of them) or simply gaze out over the water. Who knows, you may have the privilege of seeing the adopted swan “Ophelia” drift on the still water, mysterious and beautiful. A stone’s throw away one can sample the fine Restaurants and Pubs with traditional music that makes Connemara special. Or if your really feeling energetic, crash out in the beautiful relaxing Sun Room with its large screen and cosy chairs, watch your favourite movie or sporting event.
A stay in this caring Lodge would cheer and comfort any weary traveller…or indeed enthusiastic sailor, fisherman, Hill walker, Golfer. A five minute drive takes you to Majestic Connemara…. What more could one wish for.
